New Music: dusk landscape painting

Tracks 1-4 are the new recording of my "dusk landscape painting," written in Vermont and performed by Robyn Jacob. The second recording of "as a snail creeps across the trail and scratches his belly on a pinecone" is performed by Michael Munro.

(NOTE this piece is very soft; further, the recording engineers set the level very low, so it is even softer, and when I try to "normalize" it sounds as if there is a monster growling in the background, which is not the intent. So just turn the volume up on your computer.)

(NOTE: the piece begins with silence. Wait. Take in air.)

deergha swāsam or the deep breathing:

Assume a Meditative pose. Exhale slowly. Then inhale slowly.
As you do so, expand the stomach and then the chest well to allow the maximum amount of air in.
You may raise the collarbones also.
The abdominal muscles will automatically slightly contract as the chest becomes full.
Soon after, without holding the breath, exhale slowly.
First drop the collarbones; then contract the chest and then the stomach, one section flowing into the other.
In both inhalation and exhalation, the breath should be one continuous flow.
Repeat this breathing, slowly and steadily.
This method fills the lungs to capacity and empties them thoroughly.

HINT: Every inhalation should begin from the stomach, and every exhalation from the top of the lungs. -from Yogiraj Sri Swami Satchidananda. Integral Yoga Hatha. New York, NY: Holt, Rinehart and Winston (1970).
